Hot tears dripped from the boy’s watery eyes, coating his cheeks, as gasps of air rushed from his lungs in a frantic craze. A trembling sensation took over his bottom lip, as he fought to combat the quivering shakes rolling through his body. Emptiness filled his mind as he tried to think about anything at all, anything other than the clouds of sadness enveloping his thoughts.
Spinning in circles, the excitable dog leapt towards the door, whining and scratching in anticipation of the world outside. Widening his eyes, he eagerly wound through the house, barking madly, hungry for the exotic smells of his surroundings.
Clouds of icy breath filled the air, as crystals of frost peppered the solid ground. Blinding gleams of light bounced off the mirror-like ice, thawing small patches of the fields as crowds of people shivered wordlessly
